Dr. Kolker is committed to achieving and restoring balance and beauty in his patients at home in New York, and to those in need around the world. Dr. Kolker’s training in plastic surgery included considerable work with babies and children while at the Harvard’s Boston Children’s Hospital, and at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Having developed a love of caring for kids, Dr. Kolker regularly travels to communities in third-world countries, providing surgery to babies and children and education to local physicians to promote sustainable healthcare for children for years to come.
In his mission work, Dr. Kolker focuses on restoring physical balance, self confidence, and social acceptance to children born with facial birth defects. Dr. Kolker’s most recent pediatric plastic surgery missions with Operation Smile were to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in March 2005, Fez, Morocco in March 2006, and Calcutta, India in November 2007. Dr. Kolker also recently traveled to Cape Coast, Ghana in March 2008 providing plastic surgery to West African children with birth and traumatic defects with the Our Children International organization.
Operation Smile is an international not-for-profit organization. Since 1982, Operation Smile teams have provided free surgery to more than 115,000 children in 26 developing countries and the U.S. Dr. Kolker is honored and privileged to play an active role in this amazing charitable organization.
Dr. Kolker is also pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from the AKMD Skincare line of products will be donated to Operation Smile.
